This artwork features a profile portrait of a peacock, capturing its vibrant and intricately textured plumage. The bird's head and neck are depicted in shades of emerald, forest green, and deep sapphire blue, with its signature eye-spotted feathers layered densely across its chest. Its gaze is directed to the right, framed by soft, brush-stroke textures that give the plumage a velvety appearance.
Surrounding the peacock is an array of delicate, blooming flowers, including soft pink roses and pale, daisy-like blossoms. The entire scene is enclosed within an elegant, arched gold frame adorned with intricate, baroque-style filigree at the top. The background is a wash of luminous, moody greens that transition from a bright, almost neon glow near the bird's eye to a deep, dark shadow at the edges.
The style is painterly and impressionistic, characterized by rich color saturation and visible brushwork that emphasizes the softness of the petals and the sheen of the bird's feathers. The composition creates a regal and atmospheric mood, blending natural beauty with a sense of classical, ornate artistry.
This illustration depicts a regal peacock in profile, facing toward the right. The bird's head and neck are densely covered in vibrant, iridescent feathers in shades of deep sapphire blue and emerald green. A prominent, intricate crown of soft, multi-colored flowers, including pink roses and smaller blossoms, rests atop its head. The bird's eye is large and dark, conveying a serene and focused expression.
The peacock is framed within an elegant, decorative golden arch that suggests an ornate window or a gilded painting frame. This arch is set against a dark, moody background that fades from deep forest green to charcoal shadows. Several large, stylized flowers bloom in the lower foreground and near the peacock’s neck, adding a sense of lush, garden-like atmosphere to the scene. The overall composition is tight and portrait-focused, emphasizing the majesty of the bird.
The artwork uses rich, saturated colours with a painterly style that emphasizes texture and pattern, particularly in the overlapping scale-like feathers of the peacock's neck. The lighting appears to glow from behind the bird's neck, creating a soft, warm radiance that contrasts with the cooler tones of the feathers and the darkness of the surrounding frame. In the bottom right corner, the text "BrendaDobson-2026" is subtly inscribed.
The central focal point of this image is the head and neck of a peacock, depicted in a lush, illustrative style. The bird's feathers are rendered with intricate, layered strokes in shades of deep blue, teal, and emerald green, creating a dense, textured effect that captures the natural iridescence of the species. Its large, dark eye is framed by detailed, brush-stroked scales, and the bird is positioned in profile, looking toward the right with a serene, watchful expression.
Surrounding the peacock are vibrant, blossoming flowers in hues of hot pink, violet, and creamy white. These blooms appear to cradle the bird's head, emerging from a dark, nebulous background that suggests a garden at twilight. The entire composition is encased within a decorative, semi-circular gold arch that features delicate, ornate filigree work at the top. This golden frame adds a touch of elegance and structure, separating the vibrant organic subjects from the dark edges of the vignette.
The artwork utilizes a rich, saturated color palette that emphasizes the contrast between the dark, moody background and the bright, vivid colors of the flora and plumage. The lighting is soft yet dramatic, highlighting the textures of the individual petals and the smooth sheen of the peacock’s neck feathers. The overall mood is one of quiet, regal beauty and ethereal nature, presented with the detailed precision often found in digital media or fine art painting.
One of a collection of exotic bird puzzles by Sarena Mantz, RomantzArt. We had previously done Queen's Aviary Petra and have another of her puzzles to do. Definitely not as difficult as it looks - just seemed to flow as it went together. A good quality inexpensive Canadian brand. KI Puzzles quality has improved greatly over the years. Pieces fit well together (no "false fits"), sections can be moved around and completed puzzle can be picked up. Comes with a nice-sized poster with information about the artist. Pieces are a matte finish, unlike earlier KI puzzles that have a high gloss finish. Much prefer the matte finish.
